Audrey Werro showcased her prowess in the women’s 800m at the Ultimate Championships in Budapest, clinching the $150,000 top prize. The 22-year-old Swiss athlete clocked in at 1:55.88, outpacing Britain’s Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, who finished second with a time of 1:56.26. Femke Broeders-Bol secured third place. Werro dominated the race from the start, establishing an early lead and accelerating over the last 300 meters, capping off an extraordinary season with 14 victories out of 15 outdoor races.

Despite a challenging season marred by injuries, Hodgkinson expressed pride in her performance. She returned from a hamstring injury that had hindered her speed training, making her second-place finish a testament to her resilience and competitiveness. Meanwhile, in the women’s 1500m event, Georgia Hunter Bell claimed second place behind Poland’s Klaudia Kazimierska. Kazimierska won the race with a time of 3:57.55, narrowly edging out Hunter Bell by 0.15 seconds. Hunter Bell’s consistent performances throughout the season earned her $75,000 in prize money.

The women’s 100m event also delivered a standout moment with world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden racing to a world-leading time of 10.62 seconds. Olympic champion Julien Alfred followed in second place with a time of 10.74 seconds, just ahead of Sha’Carri Richardson who finished third at 10.76 seconds. Jefferson-Wooden’s performance solidified her status as a top sprinter this year, showcasing her exceptional speed on the international stage.
