Qatar Chamber’s First Vice Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently convened with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s Lusail headquarters. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss avenues for enhancing economic and trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam. Central to their discussions was the aim of bolstering cooperation between the private sector companies of both nations, as well as identifying new investment opportunities and key sectors for future collaboration.
Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint investment initiatives between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses. He also acknowledged Vietnam’s impressive economic growth. Ambassador Hiep reciprocated, emphasizing Vietnam’s keen interest in deepening economic ties with Qatar. He noted that bilateral trade between the countries surpassed $860 million in 2024, an increase of $100 million from the previous year.
The ambassador encouraged Qatari investors to explore potential opportunities in Vietnam, particularly within agriculture, food processing, and the halal sector. He stressed the importance of Qatar Chamber’s role in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal products in the Qatari market.
Additionally, Ambassador Hiep extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. Scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September, this annual exhibition is a significant global trade event. It focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation, attracting international companies and industry leaders from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
